Turkey Tread

Join us for a modified version of the turkey shoot using darts. Those who strike on or closest to the bullseye in their division have chance to win a frozen turkey! Parents must accompany children 17 years of age or younger. Registration is required on or before Nov. 9.
Winterfest Tree Lighting Ceremony Featuring Rockapella & Parade

Start celebrating the holidays on Water Street at Henderson’s annual Tree Lighting with Mayor Romero. Join us the following evening for a live performance by Rockapella and the spectacular Winterfest Holiday Light Parade. Festivities are free for spectators; fee applies for parade entry only. Cosmic Swim Winter Wonderland

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Enjoy a festive cosmic-themed night full of winter activities at the pool. Your interstellar aquatic experience includes music, lights, and glow gear. Fun for the whole family! All ages are welcome.
Bird Mobile Tour with Santa

📍 Bird Viewing PreserveCome out to the Bird Preserve and enjoy fun holiday festivities. Hop on our Bird Mobile that runs every 15 minutes for a fun ride with Santa and one of our expert birders. Take a walk around the pond for our story walk or enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while creating a bird ornament in our classroom.

Have you sent a letter to the North Pole yet? If you haven’t, don’t worry because Santa Claus is visiting Black Mountain Recreation Center. Your children will be able to meet Santa and pose for pictures. A digital picture will be sent to your personal email or bring your own camera
Santa's Workshop

Drop the kids off with us so you can finish your last-minute shopping. At Santa’s Workshop, children will make a take-home present and design their own wrapping paper. The event also features games, pizza and a whole lot of holiday cheer. Registration is required by Nov 30.
Merry Grinchmas

Travel with us to Whoville and watch your heart grow three sizes big, then help us decorate the Grinchmas tree. Dress in a holiday costume if you’re in a merry spirit. Refreshments will be provided. Price is per person. Come in car, on foot or on a bike, a special guest will be in sight!
Reindeer Dash 5K Run
& 1 Mile Walk

Make a dash from Cornerstone Park to the Pittman Wash Trail this winter for a jolly good time. Participants are encouraged to don their most cheerful costumes or ugly holiday sweaters. Souvenir medals and dry fit T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 300 participants. All fitness levels are welcome!
Candy Cane Festival

📍 Heritage Park Aquatics Center
Celebrate the magic of winter with us. Festivities include games, a bounce house, treats, and our famous underwater candy cane hunt. We are holding a gingerbread contest, so please bring your gingerbread house for the possibility to win a prize. Kids can also get ready for the holiday season by writing and mailing a letter to Santa delivered by Rad Tad. Parents must be in the water with children under the age of 8.
Escape Room Series:
Nightmare Before Christmas

Looking for something fun to do with the family? Join us for a Nightmare Before Christmas escape room. Families will have one hour to escape the room. Each reservation time slot below holds a maximum of 10 participants from the same household. Fees are per person. Registration ends Dec 9.
Parents Night Out
S’MORE Santa Fun

Parents enjoy a night out holiday shopping while your children participate in fun Reindeer Games. Children will enjoy an outdoor adventure in nature with Santa. Activities include archery, hiking, s’mores, and stories by the campfire.
Winter Solstice
at the Bird Viewing Preserve

📍 Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve
Come celebrate winter solstice at our BVP after hours! The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is a wonderful place to celebrate the changing of the seasons and the beginning of winter. We welcome children and families to come create warmth, spirit and light during this event celebrating the darkest and shortest day of the year. Our classroom will be open with crafts and refreshments for families to enjoy.
Merry Grinchmas at Heritage Bark Park

Bring out your furry friends for a Grinchy good time. Participants will get to interact with the Grinch and take photos with their pups. Festive treats and pop-up agility courses will also be provided for your pets to enjoy.
ADAPTIVE RECREATION & INCLUSION Holiday Shopping

📍 Galleria Mall at Sunset, 1300 W Sunset Rd, Henderson
Join us for our annual holiday shopping and lunch at the Galleria at Sunset mall! We will have lunch in at Tacos-N-More, then shop for those holiday gifts that are on your list! Participants bring a list of items and money for shopping. Transportation, lunch and supervision included. This event is for individuals with disabilities. Meet at the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance. Register by Dec 5.
